As an impact of current global economic scenario, change in business strategies is becoming evident with higher
emphasis on cost control, increase in efficiencies and varying customer behaviour. Businesses are looking at
Information Technology as one of the drivers which will assist them in implementing their strategies faster and in cost
effective way. With this increased focus on IT, one of the activities in the process i.e. Testing is being given more
importance to ensure that end product or application carrying business strategy has the desired level of quality built
in. Testing as a service needs to evolve further to be able to support the changing business and in parallel changing
some of the aspects of product or application development lifecycle.
This paper highlights the new components or additions to existing components which need to be introduced or
enhanced in testing service to support testing requirements of changing business. These suggested approaches are
not the alternatives to existing testing approaches but will compliment them and will assist in delivering results faster,
with lesser cost and increased quality.
