The testing methodology is usually highly dependent on the development methodology; sometimes to supplement it and sometimes to cater to it. Identifying a suitable acceptance or system test strategy becomes very challenging when development follows Scrum Model. This is because of lean documentation and the gap between daily sprint output and system level workflow order.
Most of the times, in such cases, the system/acceptance testing teams test the integrated features at the end of the sprint when the complete modules and features are available. The downside in this approach is that the testing and defect fixing cycle goes on long after development is over and the development resources have to be deviated from current Sprints.
This paper describes an innovative and proven Test Strategy and methodology. This approach enables a system testing cycle parallel to development Scrum and thus cuts down the testing lag time by 50 to 80 percent.
