Role of PMO in Corporate Governance

Corporate Governance is the set of processes, customs, policies, laws, and institutions affecting the way a corporation is directed, administered or controlled. By managing the Project Governance in a better way, we can make better impact on the Corporate Governance. A key part of the PMO is ‘managing by walking around’ — visiting the core team, talking to the members and picking up the ‘vibes’ earlier rather than late. Corporate Governance team can use PMO for managing by walking around. Almost all Corporate above failed mainly in the following three areas:
1. Ethics
2. Transparency
3. Disclosure
This paper  describes the possibility of using PMO for better Corporate Governance in the above 3 Areas.

S.Chandramouli is a PMP and an alumnus of IIM, Kozhikode. He is a Certified Global Business Leader from U21 Global University.He has been actively involved with the Project management discipline and got the “Most Valuable Player of the Year 2004” award from Birla Soft Management. He presented papers in various International forums on Project management. He was as an active member in PMI’s OPM3 and PMCDF Project Works. He also passed ITILF certification. He is also Author of the book “Virtual Project Management Office”.

S. Rajarajan a PMP, support services (ITIL) & Business Management (EPBM) from IIM, Calcutta. He has been actively involved with the Project management discipline and has strong delivery capabilities with tough deadlines along with appropriate process definition.
