One of the biggest challenges in ITIL is testing the products associated with ITIL configuration and change management. The challenge comes with the wide range of devices and hundreds of models from different vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, Extreme, F5, Huawei etc. The other challenge is the huge cost associated with vendor devices, especially the ones with ITIL service support.
The presentation will aim to look into and analyze the above challenges. It will demonstrate how design for six sigma (DFSS) concepts be utilized. It will also look into technology of developing a utility which in conjunction with DFSS, optimizes the solution of testing multi-vendor network for change and configuration management aspect. This concept is replicable and can be picked up by any vendor who is dealing in the space of ITIL or ITSM in general.
