Capgemini’s CMMi® High Maturity Diary Hands-on Tips for a Successful Journey
Mitta Rout, Vice President, QA
Rashmi Mukherjee, Manager
- Capgemini India
Mitta Rout,
Rashmi Mukherjee

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end”. CMMI®‘s high maturity framework provides one such platform for a never ending journey towards perfection. This diary is an attempt to share the humbling experiences of our first steps in this journey. The journal can be summarized as given below
1.Voice of customer/ voice of business cannot be dubbed
(Rework associated with not starting the journey with VOC/VOB)
2.Those who copy are to remain copy cats. Copy cubs is a myth
(Borrowing ideas of implementation can be foolish)
3.Data reveals it’s secrets to those with patience, perseverance and premonition
(Getting to good process performance models)
4.Control your ship, winds you cannot tame
(Identifying correct & truly controllable sub-processes)
5.Anomalies need both symptomatic treatment and curative care
(Causal analysis to address both causes and effects)
6.Innovation in silos leads to a total disconnect with the big picture
(Minimal criteria of selection for relevant innovations)
7.All’s well that “trends” well
(Visibly desirable results; besides the process)
