Roles & Responsibilities Brief Job Description:

Has the overall responsibility for the legal function, interaction with other functions, alignment with strategy, achievement of targets for the function. Responsible for all legal inputs, advice, implications, compliance, processes, documentation and internal/external interaction.

Contracts Review,  Negotiation, Finalization and  closure and other legal documents

Creating / Reviewing Legal Documents, including

  • Customer and vendor Contracts, Online Agreements/Terms and conditions, MoU’s, Strategic Alliance agreements, RFP terms review, various registration forms’ information, legal notices etc.
  • Special focus on commercial terms and key risks.

Processes Management

  • Maintaining & keeping updated, the IT database of contracts with customers and vendors etc, as well as soft and hard copies of all contracts and legal documents in proper indexed and easily searchable manner.
  • Ensuring timely reminders for renewal of contracts expiring in next 2-3 months.
  • Very regular and rigorous follow-up of non-moving contracts for expediting their closure.
  • Providing contracts related information/ status in corporate processes where such information is required.

Communications Management & interface

Legal Interface handling all communication, queries and negotiation both external/internal

External

  • Client or client legal representatives legal queries/ interaction/ negotiation
  • Vendors such as software providers and other service providers such as Architects, IT Services, PR Agencies, Staffing, Search, house keeping etc.
  • Partners such as External Consultants for delivery, Experts, IP Licensors, Joint Delivery Partners.
  • Marketing/ Sales such as Resellers, Marketing Partners, Lead Finders, Information Providers and
  • Other supporting partners such as Joint Branding, Infrastructure Providers, Publishers etc,

Internal

  • Finance, HR, Recruitment, IT, Sales & Business Development
  • Legal Awareness Training for new employees
 Skills Required
  • LLB/LLM having 2-4yrs experience
  • Must have practical exposure of contract negotiation in IT / Consulting industry. 80% of the work involves customer’s contracts review / negotiation / follow-up.
  • Should be capable of doing / verifying simple commercial calculations. We are looking for a person who understand the difference between what is material and what is insignificant, a person who can cull out possible serious problems from the mass of insignificant legalese /verbiage, a person who looks for the key risks and commercial implications in the contract rather than just dotting the ‘i’s and crossing the ‘t’s.
  • Must be good at communicating, people management and open to feedbacks and improvements.
  • Good written & verbal English communication.
